My Body of Work explores how architecture becomes a silent record of human existence. Drawing on my Chinese heritage, I explore the dense residential environments of southern China as spaces in which everyday life is embedded in walls, windows and weathered surfaces. Through architectural models and sketches, I reinterpret familiar buildings as portraits of memory rather than as structures. Peeling paint, rusted metal, exposed pipework and stained concrete serve as evidence of generations who have occupied these spaces, revealing presence without depicting the human figure.

Living between Australian and Chinese cultures has shaped my understanding of home as defined not only by people but also by the places they continually inhabit, repair and transform. The contrast between Australia's open suburban landscape and China's layered urban density highlights how communities occupy space and express belonging.
