Kingsley Little
Inevitability

My Body of Work explores the paradox between the greatness of life and the inevitability of death. I investigate humanity’s desire to achieve, create and leave a lasting legacy despite our temporary existence. Through the materiality of clay, I reference the earth from which life emerges and to which it ultimately returns. Ego prints represent individuality, identity and the human desire to assert significance, while flowers symbolise beauty, growth, fragility and decay. Through these materials and processes, I communicate the cyclical nature of existence and question whether human greatness can ever transcend the natural cycle of life and death.
