My Body of Work explores the relationship between native Australian birds, human waste and the fragile environments they inhabit. Through drawings of local bird species, constructed birdhouses made from discarded packaging, and printed nest forms built from images of rubbish, I investigate how birds adapt to materials left behind by people. The use of rubbish as both subject matter and material highlights the impact of consumer culture on natural habitats. By combining observational drawing, printmaking and assemblage, my work invites viewers to consider the resilience of native birds and the environmental responsibility we share in protecting their nesting places.
