Monolithic Memories ... Navigating the Urban Grid
My Body of Work explores the monumental scale and repetitive geometry of high-density urban architecture, using it as a visual gateway between my current context and memories of China and Hong Kong. Through atmospheric printmaking, detailed graphite drawings and expansive photography, I investigate the tension between intimate lived experience and imposing concrete grids. By subtly embedding an Australian brutalist tower within the Chinese facades, the work moves beyond a single location and suggests the shared visual language of high-density living. Ultimately, this structural progression invites the audience to navigate the architectural spaces that have shaped my upbringing.
