My Body of Work explores my experience of living between my Jordanian and Australian identities, navigating two cultures, landscapes and sense of belonging. Through linocut printmaking, I combine motifs inspired by Jordanian and Amman textiles, particularly Tatreez, with Australian botanical forms to connect culture and memory with my life in Australia. The repeated process of carving and printing reflects how identity is shaped, layered and carried across generations and places. Contrasts of positive and negative space suggest separation, connection and the ache of being in between. My work reflects on dual heritage, showing that identity is not divided, but is instead an ongoing negotiation between the two worlds I call home.
